I purchased these cables (shipped from Vista Gaming Products) to use my Xbox360 with my Dell 24" 2405FPW Monitor. I was using some component cables before and the picture quality was good at 720p but I wanted to see what it looked like with the VGA cables.
Immediately the picture was softer looking and sort of blurry with a ghost image. I went through and tried all the different display settings in the 360 menus and on the monitor and the picture stayed the same way, a ghost image off to the right and a softer looking picture. I tried wiggling the connector ends to see if I could get it better on both the monitor side and the 360 side but had no luck.
These are just thin, cheaply made cables unlike the other better quality cables. I suggest spending a few more dollars on some better cables so you aren't throwing your money away like I did. |

This cable looks solid, for the price, really *cant* complain. I was not looking for "professional" quality, because honestly, when you are hooking up to a 15-18" non-widescreen CRT monitor, are you really going to be able to tell the difference from this cable and a MS/Monster/other "superior" cable? Chances are: no.
Pros: Price [very cheap], gets the job done and has RCA audio connectors [I already have a RCA -> mini stereo jack adapter for headset/speakers], and all in all looks durable construction wise.
Cons: I wondered if it came with a FEMALE to FEMALE gender changer for the VGA 15 pin connector [because several other products come with one], which I came to find was not included. Not so much an issue since it is not claimed to come with one in the description, but would be helpful to know in advance.
All in all, if you *ARE NOT* trying to get quality that impresses video engineers, get this cable! It gets the job done and is *CHEAP*! Win-win IMO.
I'm not an expert, but if your tv/graphics card/etc supports HDMI cables, opt for that, because it is HD and audio all in one. But if you need a simple solution to hook up your Xbox 360 to your second monitor next to your normal PC monitor so you don't have to walk to the next room to play some GTA4/Dead Rising/Burnout Paradise on a normal television where the text is illegible due to the resolution, GET THIS! You will be glad you did! :)
Worth the money! Ships very quick! Mine shipped the next day after ordering [ordered on a Sunday around 3pm] and arrived within 4 days of shipping standard! Very impressed! Keep up the great work Amazon and suppliers!! |
