It is really good for what it's meant to do. That is, let me connect the hdmi to the tv, and audio to my 5.1 surround setup. I can't believe you couldn't do such a thing straight out of the box. Another example how Microsoft is trying to rip you off.

Only ment for useing hdmi and digital toslink audio.

This is only if you want to use a hdmi cable and a toslink optical audio cable with your xbox 360. other than that I think its a total ripoff. This item used to ship with xbox 360 elites before they dropped their price down to $300 usd. If you can find this adapter somewhere else buy it.

It fixed the issue of the port being blocked by the cable but why the heck would you make a cable that blocks it just to make some money is all I can think of so im giving this product a 3 star because Microsoft ripped us off and I had no sound for the first 2 weeks because I did not now they where gonna pull this crap.

I only needed the optical connection. I got a way better monster cable. I only wish they would of added the abillity to have both optical and hdmi on the consal it self. I think microsoft just did it this way to get more money.
