Breaks easily with no warning

I received one of these for my birthday. It was fine, acceptable, what have you. No problems. Then Friday night it died with no warning, no incident, just stopped working. No lights when trying to power up, no lights when plugged in to charge. But I needed a replacement for Saturday, so I trudged out to the store to buy one. It worked fine Saturday and Sunday, then Sunday night the replacement died the same way. Went to turn it on and then nothing. I'm not buying a third one, I only hope I can get my money back.

I would recommend you do not purchase any headset from Microsoft. I have been through three wired headsets and one wireless headset and they never fail to break. The three month warranty is simply not enough time as mine usually take about six months to stop working. I treat my gaming accessories with care and never toss them around or harm them. It seems that Microsoft is just unable to create a fully functioning headset.

this product is awesome. i bought it off amazon and chose the standard shipping which was 3-5 days and it shipped on time and came on the expected date. the headset is great. its last pretty long but the way i use it i usually have to charge it after 3 days of use. i play for a long time which is why i have to charge it so often. it lasts about as long as the box says about 8 hrs or so. the only thing is that when the battery gets down to 2 bars it pretty much means u got about 10-15 min of playing time left. dont listen to the chime that indicates u have 30 min and 5 min left cuz its bull. when u see 2 bars jus be ready to charge soon. other than that the product is great. sound is good and it takes a little to get use to having it on your ear but its fine.

I had the wired headset but the cable can be a nuisance as it plugs into the controller. This wireless headset is much better and you don't have to worry about a cable coming unplugged from the controller. The sound from the headset is better than I thought it would be and the volume is easily controlled and or muted.
I would recommend this product and have not had any problems so far. Amazons price was a lot lower than buying at the retail stores also.

Man, this wireless mic can get loud when you're in a high-volume party chat or game session, but it's great and you can always mute or turn it down! I'm going to make this review quick and sweet:
Tired of wires? Purchase this!
Tired of accidently yanking the wired mic cord from your controller when you get up too quick? Purchase this!
Do you like to roam around about 30ft free? Knowing you can still hear your friends and use the bathroom at the same time? Purchase this!
Do you love to eat while gaming and hate having to push that long wired mic piece up in the process? Purchase this!
AND do you just love going wifi and fancy the newest technology doo-dads? THEN PURCHASE THIS!
Overall, this is what you need to buy if you're in need of a mic upgrade, yeah it may cost alot but it's totally worth paying Bill Gates. In order to buy a wireless Xbox mic with this kind of price (a price of a videogame), you can't be afraid of spending money. You just have to buy it and never think back on how much it costed. You have to keep it charged of course, but I have no problems with this because it only takes a good 3 to 4 hours to charge (well atleast for me) and it lastes up to 8 hours of your gaming session and many hardcore gamers play about that amount of time. You can plug the USB into your PC or your Xbox (even if the 360 is turned off).
It took me a minute to get use to the earloops that came with the mic, but I managed to find a relaxing point behind my ears to be satisfied with my newest 360 product. Though, it will hurt your ears alittle, but nothing a man or woman can't handle, the short ache behind the ears after taking the mic off goes away in no time. ENJOY THIS FOLKS (or whoever you're copping it for)! Get it if you/they complain of wires. You/they won't regret it, especially while you/they are having to do some mobile multi-tasking. (Toliet breaks) :)
And I ordered mines all here from the #1 online shopping site: Amazon.com
